This site is to tell our awesome stories from the night before. These "apparently" parts come out in reverse order. For example, "Last night I watched the super bowl and won money on the Saints. We had a party and got drunk. I woke up this morning with crazy hangover. So apparently, I was so wasted I was singing the super bowl shuffle in my underwear while dancing on the bar."
So apparently Sarah forgot to supplement her alcoholic beverages with water...
ReplyDeleteWe woke up around 830AM on Super Bowl Sunday, because my parents and sister were going to church. They asked me if we'd be joining them, and I shrugged as I gently rubbed my throbbing head, saying that I'd need to ask Sarah.
I woke her up and she said she'd wanted to go to church that morning, and that we should probably go. So by 915 we were showered, dressed, (Sarah in her outfit from last night because we had responsibly taken a cab home)and ready to go.
My sister drove the three of us there behind my parents, and when we got into church the second row was the only spot left. We were joking and laughing and Sarah seemed fine. About halfway through the service Sarah very quietly told me she didn't feel well and asked if I could take her to the bathroom. I helped her up and she felt clammy with a cold sweat. I thought she was going to vomit, and she walked unsteadily.
When we got to the back of the church, she tried to speak as she grabbed my arm and she fainted. She fell like dead weight and I caught her with my arms through her armpits. I said her name repeadetly and she did not respond. As I eased her to the ground, a small crowd gathered.
I kept calling her name and supported her neck, and she nodded, so I knew she was alive. People asked me about a thousand stupid questions before an usher and a gentleman who was an off-duty paramedic cleared the way and told me she'd be fine. We halped her into a wheelchair and they took her to the green room so she could lay down on a couch.
After that the paramedics came and ran some simple tests. She looked pale but was now alert and responsive. After a little convincing, she agreed to go to the hospital to undergo some tests.
I realized my family was now out of church probably wondering where we were so I went to find them. As I walked out (next to Sarah on a stretcher) my mom came running over and was hysterically asking me what happened to her. I explained everything and said we had to find my dad and sister.
My sister walked up to us with our coats and Sarah's purse and explained that my Dad had been standing outside and immediately jumped into the ambulance when he saw Sarah was getting wheeled in there.
The rest of the story is that we went to Edwards Hospital in Naperville where she was administered a set of tests that came back normal, and an IV with some mile painkiller to stop her headache, as well as much needed fluids.
Her doctors and I have advised her to try a bit harder to stay hydrated, as well as not go 18 hours without food while drinking.
-the End.
HOLY CRAP(pun intended)! Poor girl. So apparently a night of drinking + no food +the Jesus=Ambulance rides.
